Dr. Aparna Gumma

Dr Aparna Gumma is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Deputy medical director surgical, at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital.  She has extensive experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and healthcare management and education.She specializes in   high-risk obstetrics, labour ward management,  minimal access gynaecology including Hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries, colposcopy, and menopause , cosmetic& functional gynaecology  Her clinical interests extend to general and Paediatric & adolescent gynaecology, where she strives to provide the highest level of patient care. She was the Head of the Obstetrics & gynaecology Department at Kings college hospital, Dubai Hills prior to moving to Mediclinic Parkview hospital.  The DHA appointed her as the Director of OBGYN residency training  programme in Dubai  in 2023.Dr Aparna completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (CCT) in the West Midlands, UK including BSCCP colposcopy training, RCOG  High risk pregnancy &Advanced labour ward practice  and obtained CCT in 2008, became  Consultant Obs &Gyn  in UK. She has conducted both NHS & private practice in UK , Set up Paediatric &Adolescent Gynaecology services, run  private Menopause clinic in UK . She had extensive experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology across various hospitals in the UK  ,where she held the position of Maternal Medicine Lead and Diabetic pregnancy lead . In addition, she was the Director for postgraduate and undergraduate medical education and a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff Medical University.  She has been awarded prestigious qualifications such as MRCOG and FRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK, and MRCP and FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Fellowship of Cosmetic Gynaecology from ISSAG.   She was actively involved in research  trials as principal investigator such as Big baby national trails in UK and is widely published. She has contributed to various scientific programs and conferences as  an invited speaker.  She is passionate about promoting patient safety, holistic approach to patient care dedicating herself to improving the learning environment for both students and healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary collaboration.  In her role as Deputy medical director surgical at Mediclinic Parkview hospital, She continues to champion excellence in clinical care, medical education, and patient safety.
