Dr. Rajneesh Rajan

Dr. Rajneesh has graduated from Govt. MCH Thrissur, completed MD in Internal Medicine from PGIMER Chandigarh and obtained DM in Gastroenterology from Govt MCH Calicut. He was associated with Aster MIMS, Calicut, India for the last 6 years and has 10 years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His areas of interest includes Therapeutic hepatobiliary and pancreatic interventions, Emergency Endoscopy, Endoscopic detection of precancerous condition, Palliative endoscopy in GI Malignancies and his research field includes Cryptogenic cirrhosis, Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, Biologics in Inflammatory bowel disease and management of Chronic hepatitis B and Chronic hepatitis C. He has 10 years of experience in the field of therapeutic endoscopy and has done more than 10000 upper GI endoscopies and more than 2000 therapeutic procedures including endoscopic variceal ligation, sclerotherapy, foreign body removal, Hemoclip insertion, polypectomy, argon plasma coagulation, stricture dilatation, achalasia balloon dilatation, Metallic stenting, CRE Balloon dilatation, PEG tube insertion, Pyloric and duodenal stenting, Push enteroscopy. He has done more than 2000 diagnostic colonoscopy and lower GI therapeutics including polypectomy, stricture dilatation, colonic stenting. Experience in therapeutic ERCP: Done more then 300 ERCP and his major therapeutic work included CBD stone removal and stenting, CBD Metal stenting, Pancreatic endotherapy, Spyglass. He is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound especially EUS guided FNA and EUS guided coiling of gastric varices. He was closely associated with the Liver transplantation team in South India and has exposure in managing issues in the pre and post liver transplantation of around 85 patients for the past 6 years. Other training obtained: 24 hour pHmetry, Esophageal Manometry, Capsule Endoscopy, Narrow band Imaging and Fibroscan.
